Nepse Drops 4 Points, Trading Volume Limited to 5.66 Billion

kathmandu | On Wednesday, the Nepal Stock Exchange (Nepse) saw a decline. The index fell by 4 points, ending the day at 2,576.76.

This drop follows a larger decrease of 57 points on Monday. After a public holiday in Kathmandu Valley on Tuesday, the market reopened but continued to fall, resulting in reduced trading activity. On Wednesday, the total trading volume was about 5.66 billion.

The highest trading volume was in shares of CEDB Hydropower. By the end of the day, 197 companies had reported losses. Nepse observed that shares in most sectors, except banking and insurance, also decreased.
