Nepal online patrika , kathmandu | The preliminary investigation details regarding the shooting incident in Surkhet, which occurred at around 8 p.m., have been made public by the police. A press conference was held on Sunday evening by the Surkhet Police to provide information about the incident.

Vinod Giri was shot in Birgunj, according to the police. Four individuals associated with the incident have been made public by the police.

According to the police, the four individuals arrested are Indra Vik from Gauriganga Municipality-2, Kailali, Bharat Bhul, an 18-year-old, a shooter from India residing in Dadanagar Ganj Joshipur Mohalla, Bijnor district, Uttar Pradesh, India, and Rajput, a 19-year-old residing in Veerendra Nagar Municipality, Surkhet.

According to the police, a youth from Surkhet, Giri, agreed to pay the Indian shooter, Rohit Rajput, 2 lakh rupees to kill him. Based on the same agreement, the shooter, along with others, arrived in Surkhet with the intention of killing Vinod on February 25. They stayed at Hotel Ganesh in Ward No. 4 of Veerendra Nagar Municipality.

After the Indian national Rajput arrived in Surkhet, Rajan Giri, aged 37, who resides in Ward No. 4 of Veerendra Nagar Municipality, was arranged to stay at the hotel. Similarly, based on the suspicion, two individuals, Indra Vik and Bharat Bhul, were sent from Nepalgunj to Surkhet. They provided a motorcycle with registration number Ba.55.60 to the suspects from Nepalgunj to Surkhet as part of the pre-planned scheme. The police have informed that they also arrived at the same Hotel Ganesh.

Similarly, the suspicious individual arranged for three individuals (Indian citizen Rajput, Indra Vik, and Bharat Bhul) to be familiar with the address of Vinod Giri’s residence.

As per the same plan, on February 26, in the evening, Rajan Giri was followed by a motorcycle from his vehicle and shot one round of bullet in Giri’s direction at Gairichok, Ward No. 1 of Veerendra Nagar Municipality. After the shooting, there was also an accident between the car and the motorcycle.

The police have informed that an investigation is underway to bring the individuals who conspired to murder to justice and to prosecute those involved in the shooting incident.
