Nepal online patrika , kathmandu | Bharatpur Metropolitan City (BMC) is poised to launch Bharatpur Visit Year on March 1, initiating a comprehensive tourism promotion campaign.

The Metropolis’ executive committee recently finalized this decision, with the inauguration expected to be graced by the Prime Minister, former Prime Ministers, ministers, dignitaries, and an anticipated crowd exceeding 50,000 individuals.

Originally scheduled for January, the Metropolis postponed the inaugural event to March 1, citing the need for additional preparations.

Dr. Bishwa Subedi, tourism advisor of the BMC, revealed that the launch will bring together key figures from the tourism sector at federal, provincial, and local levels.

To foster the active involvement of local residents in the inauguration, ward chairpersons from all 29 wards in the Metropolis have been enlisted.

Rallies and cultural processions featuring elephants are planned to traverse each ward, culminating at the picturesque Narayani River side.

Bharatpur boasts seven major tourist destinations, with an additional 21 highlighted for the Bharatpur Visit Year.

Heading the initiative is the 2,024-member Main Organizing Committee, led by BMC Mayor Renu Dahal, dedicated to ensuring the success of Bharatpur Visit Year, with an estimated campaign cost of 60 million.

The ambitious campaign seeks to attract over 200,000 international and 500,000 domestic tourists to Chitwan district during the Bharatpur Visit Year.

On the eve of the inaugural ceremony, local artists are set to captivate the audience with a cultural program on the banks of the Narayani River.
