Kathmandu. On January 10, the House of Representatives will consider a motion of confidence in the government, according to Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal.
On December 25, Dahal was chosen to be the new prime minister. Dahal would ask for support from the parliamentarians on that day since the constitution mandates that a prime minister appointed in accordance with article 76(2) of the constitution get a vote of confidence within 30 days.
On Monday, Dahal wrote to the Federal Parliament Secretariat to request that the vote be scheduled for that day’s session of parliament.
President Bidya Devi Bhandari has called the first meeting of the newly elected House of Representatives on January 9.
