He expressed his commitment to the Nepal government’s full support and cooperation to the Commission in the context of independent investigation and investigation on all the small and big corruption related incidents in different periods.

Prime Minister Dahal said that the overall development of the country cannot be envisioned without ruthlessly ending corruption, and that there has been a delay in developing the culture of transparency and public accountability in public bodies. He pointed out the need to develop and use new technology to make all the public bodies of the state more responsible and accountable.

He said that there is a need to formulate and implement a national morality policy to develop the foundation of morality in the public and private sectors as well. He also claimed that the current government will be ruthless to the extent against corruption. Prime Minister Dahal promised that necessary efforts will be made on the part of the government to pass the new Act by the Parliament within this year by making contemporary amendments to the Prevention of Corruption Act and the Abuse of Authority Investigation Commission Act.

He said, ‘I pledge the full support and cooperation of the Government of Nepal to the Commission in the context of independent investigation and investigation on all the small and big corruption incidents that have occurred in different periods. The government has given high priority to the implementation of the constitution and strengthening of federalism, economic reform and revival, investment promotion, job creation, improvement and simplification of public service delivery, establishment of citizen-friendly administration and corruption control, etc.

Developed countries are developing and using blockchain technology to increase accountability and eliminate corruption loopholes for effective control of corrupt practices. We also have to develop and use new technology to make all the public bodies of the state more responsible and accountable.

Similarly, to develop the foundation of morality in the public and private sectors, a national ethics policy should be formulated and implemented. Speed ​​in public bodies that provide direct services to the people, In order to maintain cleanliness and transparency, the government of Nepal has tried to reduce the direct contact between the service provider and the customer through the maximum use of information technology in service delivery and to minimize delays and unfair transactions. On this important occasion, I reiterate that the current government will be ruthless to the extent against corruption. Since Nepal is a party to the United Nations Convention against Corruption, the Government of Nepal is determined to fulfill its national commitment by showing solidarity in the global effort against corruption.

In this regard, necessary efforts will be made by the government to pass the new Act by the Parliament within this year by making contemporary amendments to the Prevention of Corruption Act and the Abuse of Authority Investigation Commission Act which are currently in force for the full implementation of the matters mentioned in the Convention.

Prime Minister Dahal said that the government is sensitive and active in maintaining simplicity, speed, accessibility and transparency in administrative services, including basic services such as education, health, drinking water, sanitation, national identity card, citizenship, passport, driver’s license, etc.

He said that corruption has become an obstacle to the development progress of the country and has eroded national values ​​and has created a class gap in the social structure due to the accumulation of special capital by individuals or families.
