Kathmandu | Under T20 World Cup 2024, Nepal suffered a 21-run defeat in their last match. After winning the toss and fielding first, Nepal bowled out Bangladesh for 106 runs. However, in reply, Nepal scored only 85 runs in 19.2 overs and got all out.

With this, Nepal’s World Cup journey has ended without a win. After losing the first match to the Netherlands, Nepal shared the points with Sri Lanka after the second match was canceled due to rain. The third match against South Africa was lost by 1 run.

Nepal had a good start in the match against Bangladesh. Sompal Kami took the wicket in the first ball and kept Bangladesh under pressure. However, Bangladesh put up a score of 106 runs with their strong performance. Although Nepal bowled well, they did not perform well in batting.

Captain Rohit Paudel was aiming to defeat the Test nation. Despite coming close in the match against South Africa, Nepal lost by 1 run. Even in the match against Bangladesh, that dream remained unfulfilled. In the ongoing World Cup, only the USA and Canada have managed to defeat the Test nations.

Nepal bowled out Bangladesh for 106 runs in 19.3 overs. In reply, Nepal were bundled out for 85 runs in 19.2 overs. Sompal Kami and Sandeep Lamichhane’s bowling performance was remarkable. Sandeep Lamichhane has made a record of 100 wickets in T20Is.

He produced a strong performance, dismissing Bangladesh’s key players. However, Nepal struggled in batting and was unable to win.
