Urgent: Delete These Two Android Apps Immediately
To protect your device from malware, you should delete any modified or unofficial apps from your phone.
Kathmandu. If you're an Android smartphone user, it's time to stay alert. Several apps on the Google Play Store have been found to be infected by the Nekro Trojan virus, a dangerous malware designed to steal personal data from mobile devices. This virus not only grabs your data but can also secretly install other malware on your phone.
Two apps on the Play Store have been confirmed to contain the Nekro Trojan virus. These apps are fake versions of popular ones, mimicking Spotify and WhatsApp. Google has taken swift action by removing them from the platform. Earlier, the popular game Minecraft was also found to be infected with this Trojan virus.
Back in 2019, the CamScanner PDF creator app was hit by the same Nekro Trojan virus, after being downloaded over 100 million times from the Google Play Store. The issue was later resolved with a security update. Similarly, other apps like Wuta Camera and Max Browser were also infected and subsequently removed from the Play Store.
Security experts are warning users to avoid downloading modified versions of popular apps from third-party or unofficial websites. The Nekro Trojan virus has been found in these modified versions of apps, including WhatsApp, Minecraft, Stumble Guys, Car Parking Multiplayer, and Melon Sandbox.
To protect your device from malware, you should delete any modified or unofficial apps from your phone. We strongly advise downloading apps only from official sources, like the Google Play Store or the developer’s website.
