kathmandu | Vicky Kaushal has established himself as one of the most versatile actors in Bollywood, and on his birthday, fans and moviegoers have much to celebrate.

While many recognize Vicky from his breakout role in “Masaan” (2015), his acting journey actually began earlier with a minor role in Anurag Kashyap’s acclaimed film “Gangs of Wasseypur” (2012).

In this iconic movie, Vicky appeared as a background character during a pivotal scene at a brothel, where Nagma Khatoon (played by Richa Chadha) confronts Sardar Khan (played by Manoj Bajpayee). Speaking to Nepal Online Patrika, Vicky shared an amusing anecdote about how he landed the role: the original junior artists selected for the scene backed out upon realizing the setting was a brothel, and Vicky, who was assisting on the film, stepped in to fill the gap.

His association with Anurag Kashyap extended beyond “Gangs of Wasseypur,” as Vicky continued to assist and later acted in “Raman Raghav 2.0” (2016). Vicky’s remarkable journey from an assistant director to background roles and eventually leading successful films like “URI: The Surgical Strike,” “Raazi,” and the upcoming “Sam Bahadur” is a testament to his talent and dedication.

Fans can look forward to seeing Vicky Kaushal on-screen soon in Anand Tiwari’s “Bad News,” alongside Tripti Dimri, Ammy Virk, and Neha Dhupia.
