Nepal online patrika , kathmandu | Director Deependra K. Khanal has commenced shooting for his latest film titled ‘Mayor’. The first scene, featuring the protagonist Mayor, was filmed at a hotel in Kathmandu on Friday.
Actors Khagendra Lamichhane and Tika Pahari portrayed pivotal roles in this initial scene, with Khagendra embodying the character of the Mayor. Images captured on set depict him donning glasses.
Following the Kathmandu shoot, the production team will relocate to Sarlahi. The entirety of the film, centered around the life struggles of Mayor Bharat Kumar Thapa from Bagmati Municipality, will be filmed in Bagmati.

Additionally, Bagmati Municipality is set to host an educational festival and cultural programs on Falgun 12. The film’s first scene will be captured in Sarlahi.
Khagendra meticulously studied Mayor Thapa’s traits, demeanor, and persona during his stay in Bagmati last month in preparation for his role. In the film, he will be sharing the screen with actress Varsha Raut. Mahesh Dawadi penned the screenplay, while Krishna Bahadur Thapa takes on the directorial duties.
The star-studded cast includes Arpan Thapa, Anup Baral, Divyadev, Harihar Sharma, Ravindra Jha, Prakash Ghimire, Ramesh Budhathoki, Sanjog Rasaili, Ashant Sharma, Prabhakar Neupane, Jhakendra Bisi, among others.

Mayor Thapa’s daughter, Arvisha Thapa, will be making her debut appearance in the film. Director Khanal’s daughter, Shruti Khanal, and Sharmila Pandey serve as the producers, while Deependra himself acts as the executive producer.
