kathmandu | Nepal secured a 3-0 victory against Bhutan in the SAFF U-16 Women’s Championship, held on home turf. All three goals were netted by Nepal during the initial half.
Pooja Giri initiated Nepal’s lead with a goal in the 14th minute, delivering a precise shot from the penalty area into the bottom corner of the net.
Captain Bhumika Budhathoki increased Nepal’s advantage four minutes later with another goal.

Gyanu Dolma Lole further extended Nepal’s lead in the 31st minute with a direct goal from a free-kick, leaving Bhutan’s goalkeeper, Kelzang Wangmo, unable to make the save.
Despite having a penalty opportunity in the 38th minute, Bhutan failed to score against Nepal, as Nepal’s goalkeeper Jharana Dumrokoti made a remarkable save.
Although both teams had chances in the second half, they couldn’t capitalize on them to score additional goals.

In the preceding match, Nepal defeated Bangladesh 2-0, while Bhutan suffered a 7-0 loss to India. The championship’s final match between the top two teams is scheduled for Sunday, February 27th.
