Kathmandu. “Surya leads in Nepal Golf Tour 2023-24 with Bhuvan and Rahul in joint first place.
They completed the first day of play with scores of 3-under 69. Bhuvan and Rahul finished three strokes ahead of three professional players Ramesh Adhikari, Ravi Khadka, and Niraj Tamang, along with amateur player Mejor Vijay Shrestha. Ramesh, Ravi, Niraj, and Vijay recorded scores of 2-under 70 today.
Amateur golfer Mejor Sadbhav Acharya is currently in seventh place with a score of 1-under 71. While amateur golfers Yuvraj Bhuje, Jayaram Shrestha, Sanjay Lama, and Bal Bhadra Rai are tied for eighth place with Even-par 72.

Bhuvan played an impressive front nine at Gokarna Golf Club, scoring 3-under 36. He started with a bogey on the first hole but managed to finish the front nine with birdies on the second, fifth, and seventh holes, ending up at 2-under. However, he faced a double bogey on the ninth hole, finishing the back nine with four birdies for a total score of 3-under 69.
Amateur golfer Rahul had a solid performance, finishing the front nine at 3-under 33 without any bogeys. He saved pars on the first, fourth, and sixth holes, and finished the back nine at Even-par 36 for a total score of 3-under 69.
In second place in the amateur category, Ramesh started well with a front-nine score of 2-over 38. He bogeyed the first hole but managed to birdie the third hole. However, he faced a double bogey on the par-5 seventh hole. Nonetheless, he performed exceptionally well on the back nine, securing birdies on the 15th and 17th holes to finish at 1-over 73.

The fifth competition of the tour, Surya Nepal Challenge winner Ravi scored 1-under 35 on both the front and back nine. He recorded birdies on the sixth, seventh, 15th, and 18th holes, along with pars on the eighth and 11th holes.
Meanwhile, amateur player Niraj finished the first day at 1-under 35, saving a bogey on the third and ninth holes. He birdied the 15th hole and ended the day with a par on the 18th hole.
The total cash prize for the tournament is 840,000 NPR, with the winner receiving 140,000 NPR. The second and third-place finishers will earn 96,000 and 72,000 NPR, respectively.
The cut will be applied after 36 holes, with the top 21 players securing their positions for the third and fourth days. Additionally, the top 21 amateurs will also qualify for the cut and receive cash prizes.”
