Sitaram Kattel Returns to Acting After Five Years

Kathmandu – Sitaram Kattel, better known as ‘Dhurmus’ from the popular television series Meri Bassai, is returning to acting after a five-year break. Kattel, who first entered the world of acting with a small role in the series Hijo Aja Ka Kura, later gained widespread recognition through his roles in shows like Geetanjali and Tito Satya.

Following his success in television, Kattel appeared in several hit films, including Chhakka Panja, Wada No. 6, and Nai Nabhannu La 2. However, in recent years, he has distanced himself from acting.

Now, Kattel is making his return to the screen with the film Laaj Sharanam. This comes after his last appearance in Senti Virus, a film he made during the construction of a stadium in Chitwan, which unfortunately didn’t do well at the box office. Since then, he hasn’t been involved in filmmaking, until now.

Laaj Sharanam, directed by Kumar Kattel (also known as Jigri), has been filming for two weeks in Dolpa. Although the film’s team initially planned to keep Kattel’s involvement a secret and surprise audiences with a first-look poster, images from the set confirmed his return.

Alongside Kattel, the film stars Arjun Ghimire, Mukunda Shrestha, Vijay Baral, Mahesh Tripathi, Kamal Mani Nepal, Harish Niroula, Renunath Yogi, Sagar Lamsal, Babin Rai, Priyana Acharya, and Mala Limbu. The story is said to revolve around Kattel’s character.

The Sakkigoni team, who are producing the film, have announced that Laaj Sharanam will be released on February 26th.
