Tri-Nation T20 Cricket: Nepal Defeated by Canada in Opening Match
Canada batted first and scored 123 runs for the loss of eight wickets in their 20 overs.
kathmandu : In the opening match of the Tri-Nation T20 Cricket Series, Nepal suffered a 14-run defeat against Canada. Chasing a target of 124, Nepal was bowled out for just 109 runs in 19 overs.
Captain Rohit Kumar Paudel was the top scorer for Nepal with 37 runs off 39 balls, including two fours and two sixes. Other contributions came from Kushal Malla (12), Dev Khanal (11), and Sandeep Lamichhane (10). Canada's Kalim Sana took four wickets, proving to be the key bowler.
Earlier, after losing the toss, Canada batted first and scored 123 runs for the loss of eight wickets in their 20 overs. Saad Bin Zafar top-scored for Canada with 23 runs. For Nepal, Sandeep Lamichhane and Sompal Kami both took three wickets each, while Dipendra Singh Airee and Rijon Dhakal grabbed one wicket apiece.
Nepal will face Oman in their second match tonight.
