Salman Khan Receives Another Death Threat
message warned, "Do not take this lightly. If Salman Khan wants to stay alive and end his enmity with Lawrence, he must pay INR 5 crore.
kathmandu : Actor Salman Khan has once again received a death threat, just six days after the murder of NCP leader Baba Siddique. The threat was sent via a WhatsApp message to the Mumbai traffic control room, with the sender claiming to be a member of the Lawrence gang.
According to Mumbai Police, the message warned, "Do not take this lightly. If Salman Khan wants to stay alive and end his enmity with Lawrence, he must pay INR 5 crore. If he doesn't, his fate will be worse than Baba Siddique's."
The police are currently searching for the individual behind the message. Following the murder of his close associate Baba Siddique on October 12, security around Salman has been tightened. He has been provided with Y-plus security, as reported by Indian media.
This is not the first time Salman Khan has been targeted. His Bandra residence, Galaxy Apartments, was shot at previously, with the Lawrence gang claiming responsibility. Two months after the incident, Salman told the Mumbai police, "I have been targeted multiple times by different individuals. I have received threats before and even paid fines. I'm caught up in several issues."
Salman has faced death threats multiple times, including in January 2024, April 2023, March 2023, and June 2022.
The roots of the threats trace back to 1998, when Salman was accused of poaching blackbucks during the filming of Hum Saath Saath Hain in Rajasthan. Alongside Salman, actors Saif Ali Khan, Sonali Bendre, Tabu, and Neelam Kothari were also accused. The Bishnoi community, for whom blackbucks are sacred, filed a complaint against him, and Salman was sentenced to five years in jail by the Jodhpur court, though he was later granted bail. Since then, gangster Lawrence Bishnoi has continued to issue threats against Salman.
