More Than 100,000 Women Undergo Safe Abortions in Nepal in a Year
Ministry of Health and Population reports that 29,120 women accessed safe abortion services using surgical methods

kathmandu | Over 100,000 women in Nepal have opted for safe abortions in the past year. According to government data, during the fiscal year 2080/081, a total of 105,098 women underwent abortions.
Of these, 75,978 women chose medical abortions. The data reveals that 4,628 women under the age of 20 had abortions, while 71,350 women above 20 also opted for the procedure.
The Ministry of Health and Population reports that 29,120 women accessed safe abortion services using surgical methods. Among them, 2,273 were under the age of 20, and 26,847 were above 20.
