Kathmandu | The action scenes for the movie Balidan, directed by Santosh Sen, are now being filmed under the direction of renowned South Indian action director Stunther Sam. A team of about 30 members is working on these sequences.
Sam, who has previously directed action in hit films like Haathi Mere Saathi starring Rana Daggubati and the recently released Thangalaan featuring Chiyaan Vikram, is leading the action department in Balidan.
The film’s shooting has been taking place for the past few days in various locations in eastern Nepal, including Itahari. According to Santosh Sen, cutting-edge technology is being used for the action scenes. The scenes currently being shot feature actors such as Sameer Bhatt. The film also stars Saugat Malla, Arpan Thapa, Divya Dev, and actress Richa Sharma in key roles.
Balidan's story revolves around the struggles against exploitation, injustice, and the so-called leaders of society, where sacrifices are necessary to fight for Nepal's sovereignty. To enhance the technical quality of the film, equipment such as lights, sound systems, and cameras have been imported from Mumbai.
"While Nepali cinema has made great strides in storytelling, we are now focusing on making films that can compete internationally on a technical level as well," says Sen.
Balidan is presented by Asusen Films Pvt. Ltd. and Santosh Sen, with Pawan Bradford Bista serving as the producer and Prem Puri as the co-producer.
