Kathmandu | Intel has launched its Core Ultra 200V series CPUs, known as "Lunar Lake," in India, following the global release eight days earlier. This is Intel's second-generation artificial intelligence (AI)-enabled processor, introduced after the Meteor Lake CPUs in December 2023. The Intel Core Ultra 200V series boasts multiple AI-accelerated features and delivers up to 67 trillion operations per second (TOPS). Notably, Lunar Lake is the first processor to receive the Microsoft Copilot+ certification.

Availability of Intel Core Ultra 200V Lunar Lake Series

The Intel Core Ultra 200V Lunar Lake series laptops will be available for pre-order from September 12 through retail platforms like AmazonCromaFlipkart .Full availability will begin on September 24. Global manufacturers like Acer, Asus, Dell, HP, Lenovo, MSI, and Samsung are offering devices with these processors.

Key Features of Intel Core Ultra 200V Lunar Lake Series

Intel's new lineup includes its Xe2 graphics architecture, which claims to offer 30 times better performance for mobile graphics. The lineup consists of nine new laptop processors featuring eight CPU cores and eight GPU cores. The Intel Arc Graphics Processing Unit (GPU) integrates eight second-generation Xe cores, eight advanced ray tracing units, support for up to three 4K monitors, and the Intel Xe Matrix Extensions AI engine, offering up to 67 TOPS of performance.

Intel claims that the Lunar Lake CPU provides 68% better graphics performance compared to Qualcomm's Snapdragon X Elite chipset. For development, Intel collaborated with independent software vendors (ISVs) to optimize over 500 AI models, allowing PCs powered by these processors to fully utilize their AI capabilities.

The Lunar Lake processors feature four Lion Cove performance cores and four Skymont efficiency cores. They support up to 32GB of LPDDR5X RAM. Overall, the new Core Ultra Series 2 processors provide a total of 120 TOPS across CPU (5 TOPS), GPU (48 TOPS), and NPU (67 TOPS).

Connectivity and Ports

The chips support Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 5.4 with LE Audio, and gigabit Ethernet connections. Devices powered by Intel Lunar Lake can include up to three Thunderbolt 4 ports, six USB 2.0 ports, and two USB 3.0 ports, providing enhanced connectivity options for users.
