Manakamana Cable Car to Resume Operations from 1st Asoj

Kathmandu | The Manakamana Cable Car is set to resume operations from 1st Asoj, following an upgrade to a state-of-the-art digital D-connect system.

The cable car services had been halted for two months to facilitate this modernization.

According to the company, the service had been suspended since 31st Asar for the installation of the digital upgrade and the replacement of the main cable.

The upgrade work was carried out under the direct supervision of engineers and technicians from the renowned Austrian cable car manufacturer, Doppelmayr.

After 26 years of service, this marks the first time the main cable has been replaced, and the system has transitioned from an analogue operating system to a digital one.
