"New Political Atmosphere Will Emerge Soon," Claims Prachanda

Kathmandu. Chairman of the opposition party, CPN (Maoist Centre), Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’, claims that a new political atmosphere will emerge soon. Speaking to journalists on Wednesday, Prachanda stated that not only he, but many others, have indicated that a shift in the political environment is coming.

“I had predicted from the start that this government wouldn’t last long, given how it was formed. The current events almost confirm that prediction. It seems likely that a new political atmosphere will take shape soon, and many share this view,” he said.

However, Prachanda clarified that the Maoist Centre is not actively working to change the government. Instead, the party is focusing on strengthening its organisation and reconnecting with the people.

“The Maoist Centre will not actively push for government change. Our priority is to build the organisation, reach out to the people, and focus on public engagement. I believe this government, formed through unnatural, opaque, and unethical means, will collapse on its own. We won’t need to put in much effort,” Prachanda added.

He also reiterated his earlier stance that the current government, formed by the first and second largest parties, had toppled his own through dishonesty. Prachanda, who previously expressed concerns that the Maoist party could lose its identity in the alliance, is now preparing to contest future elections independently, while aiming to strengthen the opposition bloc.
