Rabi Lamichhane Tells Wife After Arrest: "I Have Committed No Crime"
Rabi Lamichhane was arrested by the Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) of Nepal Police, under the permission of Kaski District Court.
Kathmandu – After being arrested on Friday in connection with a cooperative fraud case, Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) leader Rabi Lamichhane reassured his wife, Nikita Poudel, that he has not committed any crime.
While being taken into custody from the party office, Lamichhane embraced his wife and said, "You’ve had to suffer, dear, but I haven’t committed any crime. You know that, don’t you?"
Nikita, standing by his side, replied, "I know."
Following this, Lamichhane left his office chamber with the police.
As he signed the arrest warrant, Lamichhane made a bold statement, claiming he would one day help imprison many corrupt individuals.
"This hand is signing this today. The same hand will sign papers to send many corrupt people to jail," he said. "If I survive, and if they let me live, this hand will sign to put all corrupt ones behind bars."
Rabi Lamichhane was arrested by the Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) of Nepal Police, under the permission of Kaski District Court. He is being transported to Pokhara by road.
