Rabi Lamichhane's Statement Delayed, Refuses to Leave Until Finished

Kathmandu – The statement of Rabi Lamichhane, chairperson of the Rastriya Swatantra Party, has been delayed at the Government Attorney's Office. Lamichhane, who began giving his statement at 2:30 PM, is reportedly frustrated with the unnecessary delays.

By 7:00 PM, the statement, which began in the afternoon, had still not concluded. Sources say Lamichhane believes the authorities are deliberately dragging out the process to extend his custody. He has voiced his opposition, saying that they are trying to leave the statement incomplete and use it as an excuse to extend the deadline tomorrow.

According to sources, Lamichhane has taken a firm stand, insisting that his statement must be completed today. "I will not leave this chair until the statement is finished," he reportedly said.

The Kaski District Court had previously granted permission to hold Lamichhane in custody for six days, which ends today. However, the police are expected to present him to the court tomorrow, seeking additional days for further investigation, as they claim their inquiries are not yet complete.
