kathmandu | Former MP of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP), Dhakakumar Shrestha, who was arrested on charges of drug trafficking, has been released on bail.
The Kaski District Court ordered his release on Wednesday upon payment of NPR 75,000 bail.
Judge Bhola Nath Dhakal's bench issued the order, allowing Shrestha to be freed.
He was arrested by a team from the Kaski District Police Office on 27th Bhadra, accused of involvement in the sale of the banned drug Tapentadol.
Shrestha was apprehended based on the statement of a young man who claimed that Diya Pharmacy, located in Pokhara's Prithvichowk, was involved in selling illegal drugs.
On 7th Asoj, a drug-related case was filed in Kaski District Court against Shrestha and three others. The court then decided to grant bail for the defendants on Wednesday, 8th Asoj.
