Three Killed in Government Vehicle Accident in Baglung

Kathmandu | Three people have died in a tragic accident involving a government vehicle in Bhunghkhani, Ward No. 2 of Galkot Municipality, Baglung. The accident occurred early this morning at around 8:45 AM when the vehicle, bearing the registration number Ra 1 Jh 200, plunged approximately 300 meters off the road.

According to Narethanti Police Post, two women and one man were killed at the scene. The victims' bodies remain in a difficult-to-reach location on the hillside, making retrieval efforts challenging. The identities of the deceased have not yet been confirmed.

One person was seriously injured and has been transported to Dhaulagiri Hospital in Baglung for treatment.

Chief District Officer Netra Prasad Subedi confirmed the deaths and said that the number of people onboard the vehicle is still unclear. A rescue team, including personnel from the Nepal Army and Armed Police Force, has been dispatched to the site for further search and rescue operations.

The vehicle is reported to belong to Putha Uttarganga Rural Municipality in Rukum East. It was carrying local representatives and staff members at the time of the accident. A government identification card belonging to the Vice Chair of Putha Uttarganga Rural Municipality, Takshera, Rukum East, was found at the scene. Further details are yet to be released.

Police are continuing their investigation.
