Prasai was arrested on charges of cybercrime after making public statements that allegedly defamed Rastriya Swatantra Party leader Jwala Sangraula. Following the court's decision, Prasai is set to be released after posting bail the same day.

Two cases were filed against Prasai at the Kathmandu District Court by the District Government Attorney’s Office, based on an investigation report from the Cyber Bureau. The prosecution had demanded a maximum of five years in prison and a fine of NPR 100,000 for Prasai. However, after reviewing both cases, the court decided to release him on bail. Prasai was initially arrested on 6th Asoj from his residence in Bhaktapur.
