kathnandu - The government has declared three days of national mourning, expressing sorrow over the loss of lives and property caused by floods, landslides, and inundation.

 This comes amidst ongoing criticism that authorities have not done enough to protect citizens during this national crisis.

In a cabinet meeting held on Monday, it was decided that the national mourning period would begin from today (Tuesday).

During these three days, flags at government offices will be flown at half-mast, according to Minister for Communication and Information Technology, Prithvi Subba Gurung, who is also the government spokesperson.

However, no public holiday will be observed during this period.
