Kathmandu – During a 'National Day Concert' in Durbar Marg, protests broke out against Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli.

The concert, held on Thursday evening to mark Constitution Day, saw some members of the audience chanting slogans against the Prime Minister while he was speaking.

Amid the protests, the crowd also shouted slogans in support of Kathmandu Mayor Balen Shah.

Prime Minister Oli had given a brief speech during the event, and it was during this time that the chanting and disturbances took place. In his remarks, the Prime Minister extended Constitution Day wishes to everyone.

Dressed in casual attire and holding Nepal’s national flag, PM Oli attended the event along with his wife Radhika Shakya, Finance Minister Bishnu Poudel, and other officials.

Earlier, security sources had indicated that PM Oli would not attend the concert, but his secretariat later confirmed his participation.
