'Jhilko' Reveals First Look, Set for Release in December

Kathmandu – The first look of the much-anticipated Nepali film 'Jhilko: The Spark' has been unveiled. Directed by Yadav Kumar Bhattarai, who gained recognition with the hit film 'Jhola', the film is scheduled to release on December 20. On Friday, the first poster was made public, featuring key cast members Sunil Pokharel, Barsha Siwakoti, Bhola Raj Sapkota, Bishal Pokharel, and Ayushi Dhakal.

The poster hints that the film addresses issues related to children's addiction to mobile phones and its impact on families and society. Director Bhattarai explains that 'Jhilko' explores the relevance of these problems in today's digital world. "This is my third film after 'Jhola' and 'Bhor'. The story of 'Jhilko' is very much of the present," he says. Bhattarai adds, "Our society has entered the digital age. The film questions whether we are acting wisely in this new era."

The screenplay and dialogues for 'Jhilko' have been written by Bhattarai, alongside Arun Dev Joshi and Devbrat. The film features cinematography by Deepak Bajracharya, music by Chandi Prasad Kafle and Deepak Sharma, and editing by Nimesh Shrestha. Producers Sushila Acharya and Ramgopal Thapa are behind the project, with Umesh Paudel as the executive producer.

Along with Sunil Pokharel, the cast includes Barsha Siwakoti, Bhola Raj Sapkota, Bishal Pokharel, Pawan Mainali, and Ayushi Dhakal. Notably, actor Sunil Pokharel is making a comeback to the screen after 13 years with this film.
