Manakamana Cable Car to Close for Three Days
The closure will take place on October 15, 16, and 17, and normal operations will resume from October 18.
Kathmandu: The Manakamana Cable Car is set to close for three days for maintenance. Starting from October 15 (Ashwin 29), the service will be unavailable until October 17 (Kartik 1).
According to Ujwal Sherchan, Deputy Manager at Manakamana Darshan Pvt. Ltd., the cable car will be shut down to carry out essential repairs and to shorten the length of the cable. The closure will take place on October 15, 16, and 17, and normal operations will resume from October 18.
Previously, the cable car was closed on October 12 (Vijaya Dashami) and October 13 (Ekadashi). However, it is operational today for a brief period.
The Manakamana Cable Car, which connects visitors to the famous Manakamana Temple in Gorkha's Sahid Lakhan Rural Municipality, has been in operation since November 24, 1998 (Mangsir 8, 2055 BS). The base station, known as the 'Bottom Station,' is located at Cheres, in Chitwan's Ichchhakamana Rural Municipality-4.
