No Need to Worry About Constitution Amendment: Home Minister Lekhak

Kathmandu: Home Minister Ramesh Lekhak has said there is no need to be concerned about talks of amending the constitution.

Speaking at a program in Singha Durbar on Sunday, held to mark Constitution Day, Lekhak stated that after ten years of its implementation, it is natural to review the constitution. Therefore, there is no reason to panic over discussions of amendments.

He emphasised the need for a national-level discussion to identify the strengths and weaknesses of the constitution through its implementation review. According to him, any amendments should be done through collaboration between all political parties in parliament, not from any single party office.

Lekhak further highlighted that for sustainable peace, development, and prosperity in the country, it is essential to move forward together, building on the fundamental principles of the constitution.
