In NPL, players can choose their own grades themself
Players can register in any grade as they see fit We haven’t set any criteria based on how much they’ve played for Nepal

kathmandu | Players in the Nepal Premier League (NPL) auction can now register themselves in any grade of their choice. The Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) has opened player registration until 12th October.
Players can enrol themselves in Grade A, B, or C. The minimum price for Grade C players is set at NPR 2 lakh, for Grade B at NPR 5 lakh, and for Grade A at NPR 10 lakh. The maximum price for Grade C players is NPR 5 lakh, for Grade B players NPR 10 lakh, and for Grade A players NPR 15 lakh. Once the maximum bid is reached, players will be selected through a lottery.
CAN spokesperson Chhumbi Lama stated that players can choose their grade at their discretion. “Players can register in any grade as they see fit. We haven’t set any criteria based on how much they’ve played for Nepal. Even if they haven’t represented Nepal, players with good performances in domestic cricket could be sold in Grade A or B. That’s why there are no strict standards.”
After all names are submitted, a shortlist will be made for the auction. Although CAN has hinted the auction will take place before Dashain, the exact date has not been confirmed. Last week, marquee players were selected through a lucky draw.
Among the marquee players are Karan KC for Kathmandu, Kushal Bhurtel for Pokhara Avengers, Kushal Malla for Chitwan, Rohit Paudel for Lumbini, Sandeep Lamichhane for Biratnagar, Aasif Sheikh for Janakpur, Sompal Kami for Karnali, and Dipendra Singh Airee for Sudurpaschim.
The NPL is set to take place from 30th November to 21st December at the TU Cricket Ground.
