Prachanda Claims: Maoist Centre to Contest Elections Alone and Win

Kathmandu. Nepal Communist Party (Maoist Centre) Chairperson and former Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal, also known as Prachanda, has declared that his party will contest both the upcoming by-elections and general elections on its own.

Speaking at a press conference organised by Press Centre Nepal, Chitwan branch, at Bharatpur Airport today, Prachanda expressed confidence that the Maoist Centre would emerge victorious without forming alliances.

“I may have stepped down as Prime Minister, but the support we have among the people remains strong. I’ve travelled across the country, and I see clear evidence that we can fight alone and win,” Prachanda said.

In a different context, he stressed the need for unity during natural disasters such as floods and landslides. Prachanda called on political parties, the government, and social organisations to work together on rebuilding efforts. "The government must carry out rescue, relief, and rehabilitation work on a war footing," he added.
