Ravi Lamichhane Tries to Turn Black into White: Prakash Sharan Mahat
He accused Lamichhane of trying to "turn black into white" through deception.

Kathmandu. Nepali Congress spokesperson, Prakash Sharan Mahat, claims that Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) president, Ravi Lamichhane, is attempting to cover up his wrongdoings in a cooperative fund misuse scandal.
Speaking at a press conference organized by the Press Union in Dhangadhi on Friday, Mahat stated that Lamichhane is gathering crowds and spreading various propaganda to shield himself, but this effort will not succeed. He accused Lamichhane of trying to "turn black into white" through deception.
Mahat pointed out that despite a parliamentary investigation committee confirming Lamichhane’s involvement in the misuse of cooperative funds during his tenure as Home Minister, Lamichhane continues to claim a "clean chit." He criticised this, calling it inappropriate.
"The report from Nepal Online Patrika clearly shows the misuse of cooperative funds. Instead of accepting responsibility, Mr. Lamichhane is walking around claiming he’s been cleared. This is nothing but foolishness," said Mahat.
He added that legal action has already been recommended against Lamichhane. He accused them of using loud speeches and illogical arguments to evade accountability. Mahat believes the government will move forward with legal action based on the parliamentary committee’s recommendations, given that the case involves violations of the Cooperative Act and organized crime laws.
Mahat also dismissed any concerns about shifts in the current political alliance. He assured that Nepali Congress president Sher Bahadur Deuba will become prime minister in two years, based on the current coalition.
