Kathmandu |  Tamil superstar Thalapathy Vijay is preparing to leave his film career to focus on his political journey. In this regard, his production company, KVN Productions, has announced his final film, titled Thalapathy 69.

In the upcoming movie, Vijay is set to portray a character who fights for democracy. A social media post from the film’s team features scenes from Vijay’s iconic films, celebrating his cinematic legacy.

Sharing the announcement, the producers wrote, "We are thrilled to announce this project, which feels like a festival for Tamil cinema fans. Our love for Thalapathy knows no bounds. We grew up watching your films, and you have been a part of every step in our lives. Thank you for entertaining us for over 30 years."

Thalapathy 69 is scheduled for release in October 2025. After its release, Vijay is expected to take a break from films and fully dedicate himself to politics, according to Indian media sources.

Earlier this year, on 2nd February, Vijay launched his political party, Tamilaga Vetri Kazhagam, which translates to Tamil Nadu Victory Party in Hindi. It is believed that he will contest the 2026 Tamil Nadu Assembly elections. During the party's launch, Vijay made it clear that he would not support any other political party and vowed to serve the people of Tamil Nadu through his own platform.

Vijay began his acting career as a lead actor in the 1992 film Naalaiya Theerpu and quickly rose to become one of the biggest stars in Tamil cinema. Over his career, he has appeared in 68 films, delivering blockbuster hits such as Master and Theri.
