Heavy Rainfall Recorded Across Several Provinces, More Showers Expected

kathmandu | In the past 24 hours, Koshi and Madhes provinces have seen heavy rainfall, with Sudurpaschim Province also experiencing significant downpours in a few locations. According to the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology's weather forecasting division, around 150 millimetres of rainfall has been recorded during this period.
Additionally, widespread rain has been measured across Koshi, Madhes, Bagmati, Gandaki, and Lumbini provinces, while a few areas in other provinces have also experienced heavy showers.
Currently, light to moderate rainfall is being reported across most parts of the country. The monsoon is expected to remain active for the next 24 hours, bringing the likelihood of light to moderate rainfall with thunderstorms across many places in Koshi, Madhes, Bagmati, Gandaki, and Lumbini provinces, as well as in some areas of other provinces.
A few places in Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, and Lumbini provinces are also at risk of intense rainfall, while some locations in Sudurpaschim and Karnali provinces may also see heavy rain.
