Police Return Bulldozers Taken to Remove Unauthorised Structures at Pashupati

Kathmandu – Police have returned two bulldozers seized from the city authorities that were sent to remove unauthorised structures at the Pashupati area’s cowshed and guesthouse.

On Wednesday, two bulldozers from the Kathmandu Metropolitan City were taken into police custody while they were working to clear out illegal shelters in the area, located near the Pashupati cowshed and guesthouse. The equipment was held at the Gaushala police station but has now been returned to the city officials.

The municipal police had sent the bulldozers to remove unauthorised shelters that had not been approved in the area after clearing the cowshed and guesthouse. Metropolitan Police Superintendent Dinesh Aryal confirmed that their aim was to clear the unauthorised buildings inside the same premises.

However, Aryal noted that today the city authorities have only put up a signboard marking the site as the Pashupati cowshed and guesthouse and returned without taking further action.

Previously, Kathmandu District Police Spokesperson Superintendent Nawaraj Adhikari had denied that any bulldozers were seized by the police.
