Share Market Rises by 49 Points, Crosses 2,500 Mark, but Trading Volume Declines

Shares in all sectors gained value, with development banks, finance companies, hotels, hydropower, insurance, manufacturing, and microfinance sectors seeing substantial growth.

Share Market Rises by 49 Points, Crosses 2,500 Mark, but Trading Volume Declines

kathmandu | After a few days of decline, the stock market saw a significant rise today. The NEPSE index increased by 49.18 points, reaching 2,519.57.

Except for mutual funds, shares in all sectors gained value, with development banks, finance companies, hotels, hydropower, insurance, manufacturing, and microfinance sectors seeing substantial growth.

Notably, shares of Vinn Laghubitta, Nyadi Hydropower, Unique Nepal Laghubitta, Sagarmatha Hydropower, and Three Star Hydropower rose by 10%. However, despite the market's overall rise, shares of Himalayan Hydropower and Swarojgar Laghubitta dropped by more than 6%.

On the downside, the trading volume decreased today. While transactions worth NPR 5.5 billion were recorded yesterday, today's trading saw 124 million shares of 327 companies being traded for a total of NPR 4.81 billion.
