Stock Market Rises by 78 Points, Improvement in Trading Activity
The stock market rose by 78 points on Thursday, with improved trading volume and seven companies' prices increasing by 10%.

Kathmandu | On the final trading day of the week, Thursday, the stock market rose by 78.32 points, bringing the NEPSE index to 2688 points, a 3% increase. As the market gained, the total trading volume also surged, reaching NPR 8.16 billion compared to NPR 6.85 billion the previous day.
The market, which had been declining sharply in previous sessions, saw a reversal in trend, with a strong rise starting from 1:46 pm. Out of 229 companies, prices increased for 229, decreased for 12, and remained stable for 3. Nearly all sectors saw gains, with the hydropower sector leading at 4.24%, followed by the finance sector at 3.40% and the investment sector at 3.72%.
Notably, the prices of seven companies surged by 10%. These companies include Vin Nepal Laghubitta, Green Venture, Eastern Hydropower, Rawa Energy, Asian Hydropower, Singati Hydropower, and Emerging Nepal.
Other companies that saw significant price increases include Mayakhola Hydropower (up 9.8%), Makar Jitumaya Suri Hydropower (up 9.6%), and HIDCL (up 9.2%). On the other hand, Threestar Hydropower's stock dropped by 10%, with mutual funds also seeing notable declines.
In terms of trading volume, CEEDB Hydropower, Himalayan Reinsurance, NRN Infrastructure, Api Power, and HIDCL founder shares were among the top performers.
