Nepal Stock Market Drops by 22 Points, Transaction Volume Limited to NPR 4 Billion

All sectors except manufacturing and processing witnessed a decline, with significant losses in the trading.

Nepal Stock Market Drops by 22 Points, Transaction Volume Limited to NPR 4 Billion

kathmandu : On the first trading day of the week, the Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index has dropped by 22.36 points, settling at 2,464.40. All sectors except manufacturing and processing witnessed a decline, with significant losses in the trading, hydropower, hotel and tourism, and finance sectors.

Among today's biggest losers, shares of Upper Syange Hydropower fell by 10%, while NMB Sulav Investment Fund-2 and Upper Hewakhola Hydropower Company saw declines of over 9%. Despite the overall market downturn, shares of VIN Nepal Laghubitta and Kumari Sable Fund surged by more than 6%.

Trading volume also decreased today. Compared to the previous trading day’s NPR 4.81 billion turnover, 103 million shares of 327 companies were traded today, amounting to NPR 4.05 billion.
