Prime Minister Receives Funds for Disaster Relief from Hydropower and Financial Companies

Kathmandu – Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has received significant financial support today for the Prime Minister’s Disaster Relief Fund. Domestic and international hydropower companies, along with financial institutions, have stepped up to contribute.

In a ceremony at the Prime Minister’s residence in Baluwatar, RP Goyal, the finance director of India's largest hydropower company, National Hydropower Corporation (NHPC) Limited, handed over a cheque of NPR 10 million. Similarly, Prashant Sharma, CEO of Arun III Hydropower Project, donated NPR 10 million.

From the banking sector, Chairman of Prabhu Bank, Devi Prasad Bhattchan, and Chairman of Prime Commercial Bank, Rajendra Das Shrestha, provided NPR 10 million and NPR 3.1 million, respectively.

Additionally, Rajendra Malla, Chairman of Prabhu Insurance Limited, handed over NPR 2.5 million. Chairperson of Prabhu Mahalaxmi Life Insurance, Shiksha Bhattchan, and LP Bhanu Sharma, Chairman of Prabhu Capital, each donated NPR 2.5 million as well.

Prime Minister Oli thanked all the donors for their generous contributions, acknowledging the critical role these funds will play in providing relief to those affected by the recent floods, landslides, and inundation.
